Position Summary: Manages inbound and outbound shipment of products and materials using computerized inventory management system. Ensures shipping documents of domestic and international shipments are executed according to the appropriate procedures, CFR and IATA/ICAO requirements. Ensures delivery and processing of inventory parts from raw material warehouse to production areas. Responsible for ensuring quality transportation of material and equipment. Ensures areas of responsibility are compliant with SOPs, GMP, FDA, ISO standards.Essential Job Functions:Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the timely shipment (inbound and outbound) of product and materials in an effective and efficient manner.Responsible for receipt of incoming purchased items and delivery to appropriate departments, transporting manufactured components, issues and delivery of requested inventory items, special pick-ups and deliveries as may be required, assuring products are stored and segregated and clearly identified, disposing of damaged, rejected or residual components according to SOPs.Coordinates with Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers to expedite the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, including customs documentation and transportation (e.g., US Customs, USDA, FDA, etc.).Manages the import/export process and ensures compliance with U.S. and foreign government laws and regulations.Responsible for inventory accuracy of warehouse. Performs cycle counts of raw materials stored in warehouse.Schedules department workload. Assures appropriate documentation is completed in a timely manner.Maintains compliance of warehouse, including the quarantine area, rejected location and shipping dock area as per FDA, ISO, GMP and SOP regulations.Verifies that all SOPs and specifications are up-to-date and reflect the current procedure. Assures that all operations are performed according to these SOPs and procedures. Reports any deviations from procedure to manager.Develops strategies for the use of local, domestic and global sourcing techniques to achieve best price, delivery and quality. Coordinates the negotiation of agreements with procurement to obtain third-party service resources at the best price.Develops transportation and warehousing strategies for new products.Develops and maintains third-party service provider relationships, including international and domestic freight, warehousing and related logistics services.Investigates cause analysis issues for problem reconciliation and leads corrective action for complaints related to transportation, logistics handling and warehousing of finished products.Provides, verifies and documents training on the proper use of all applicable batch records, SOPs and specifications. Assures that all records are accurately completed.Follows safety policies and procedures and ensures that all equipment is properly maintained. Assures that all equipment in area is safe, calibrated and validated prior to use. Provides and documents training on forklift operation.Controls movement of freight including coordination of all import shipments with various airlines, carriers and custom brokers, as well as establishing routing of outbound domestic and international shipments. Prepares proforma/commercial invoices, bills of landing and other necessary paperwork for all outbound shipments. Monitors and signs off on all freight invoices - inbound and outbound. Includes keeping records of damaged shipments, discrepancies in quantity or weight and checking material against purchase orders.Maintains all working areas in a clean and orderly state.Responsible for providing an environment which encourages the company's commitment to equal employment opportunity and the value of a diverse work force.Follows all company environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines, and conducts work in a safe manner.Performs other duties as assigned.Job Specifications (skills, knowledge, special training, certification, license requirements):Strong understanding of harmonizing codes and ECCN (Export Control Classification Number) classificationsStrong PC skills including Inventory Management Software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Ariba, etc.) requiredKnowledge of GMPs, FDA, ISO regulationsKnowledge of defects and errors likely to be in non-conforming components/kits and how to prevent themAbility to supervise personnelAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of individuals - both internal and externalAbility to handle heavy workloadAbility to operate a straight body truck and forkliftAbility to lift 50+ lbs.Valid drivers' licenseEducation and Work Experience Required:High school diploma or equivalentPrevious supervisory experience preferred with a minimum of 8 years' experience in shipping/receiving/warehouse operations, including domestic and international airfreight transportation regulationsThe base salary range for this position is $123,000- $135,000/year. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.We offer a competitive benefits package that starts on day one, including medical, employer-paid dental & vision, 401(k) match up to 5%, and generous PTO and holiday benefits.
