The position begins August 15, 2026. The search will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:Teach the macroeconomics sequence, including Principles of Macroeconomics and Intermediate MacroeconomicsTeach elective courses in the candidate's area of expertise (e.g., financial economics, money and banking, international economics, labor economics, econometrics)The normal teaching load is nine credit hours per semester.Demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching, student mentoring, and academic advisingMaintain an active research agenda leading to publication in reputable, peer-reviewed journals consistent with AACSB accreditation standardsProvide services to departmental, school, and universityAuthority and AccountabilityThis assistant professor of Economics will report to the chairperson of the Department of Economics. There are no direct reports, budgetary responsibility or authority for this position.Required/Minimum QualificationsPh.D. in Economics (ABD considered; degree must be completed by the start date)Potential or demonstrated ability to be an excellent teacherPotential or demonstrated ability to publish a steady stream of peer-reviewed scholarly researchPreferred QualificationsThe preferred candidate will have prior undergraduate teaching experience, demonstrate a willingness to teach in multiple instructional formats and to integrate technology into classroom teaching, along with an interest in supervising undergraduate research and an emerging record of peer-reviewed publications.Application MaterialsApplicants should submit:Curriculum vitaeEvidence of teaching effectiveness for the most recent two yearsTwo samples of scholarly researchContact information from three professional references, including the most recent supervisorTranscriptsReview begins immediately until position is filled.
