This role is responsible for the thoughtful setup, consistent maintenance, and proper breakdown and cleaning of food and beverage buffets. The Café Attendant will also assist with dishwashing and provide general support to the Chef as needed; however, no cooking is required. This position plays an important role in maintaining service excellence, cleanliness standards, and overall guest satisfaction.ResponsibilitiesOperate the café and dining area, including supporting food and beverage service, and ensuring the space remains clean, organized, and presentable.Assist with the setup, breakdown, and cleanup of food service areas and buffets.Stock and replenish café offerings, including breakfast items, lunch service, coffee, pastries, snacks, and beverages as needed.Perform dishwashing duties daily to support kitchen and service operations.Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.Deliver excellent customer service by responding promptly and professionally to guest requests and inquiries.Maintain a welcoming, clean, and comfortable café environment that enhances the overall guest experience.Monitor café inventory levels and collaborate with the general manager to ensure timely ordering and restocking of supplies. Additional ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the kitchen, catering, and facilities teams to ensure smooth and efficient service operations. Communicate guest feedback, concerns, and special requests promptly to the Café or catering manager.Assist with light food preparation as needed under the direction of the culinary team.Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.QualificationsPrevious experience in catering, food service, or hospitality preferred.Strong multitasking skills with the ability to support both café and catering operations effectively.Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.Basic knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and food safety practices.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining cleanliness and organization standards.Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as needed.Location: New York, NYSchedule: Full Time, On-SiteBase salary: $26.00 - $28.00/hourBenefits: PTO, 401K, Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, Transit, Safe & Sick time, and FSA (Flexible Spending Account)Must be able to provide valid documentation that you are legally eligible to work in the United States.Great Performances is an equal opportunity employer.
