For more information, please visit .Position Summary:The Communications Manager is responsible for leading strategic communications that strengthen the company's brand, elevate market visibility, and support business growth throughout the Southwest. This role oversees media relations, brand storytelling, awards and recognition, visual content creation, and internal communications. The Communications Manager manages the graphic design team, develops compelling written and visual content, and partners closely with business development, leadership, and project teams to enhance client relationships and reinforce the company's reputation as a trusted construction industry leader.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Communications & PlanningHelp develop and execute an annual communications strategy aligned with company growth, brand, and business development goalsEstablish KPIs and measure effectiveness of communications, PR, & digital initiativesPrepare regular reporting and insights for leadershipMedia & Public RelationsWrite, edit, and distribute press releases, announcements, and media pitches highlighting projects, milestones, leadership, and community involvementCultivate and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and industry mediaServe as a primary media contact & coordinate interviews, statements, and press inquiriesMonitor media coverage and industry trends to identify proactive PR opportunitiesAwards & Industry RecognitionResearch, write, and submit award applications, rankings, and industry recognitionsCoordinate with project teams, leadership, and marketing to gather narratives, performance metrics, photography, and supporting materialsMaintain award calendars, deadlines, and submission trackingBrand Management & Market AwarenessChampion brand standards and ensure consistent messaging, tone, and visual identity across all platformsLead initiatives to increase brand awareness and reputation throughout the SouthwestTranslate technical construction concepts into clear, compelling brand storiesEnforce brand compliance across offices, regions, and departmentsPhotography, Videography & Digital ContentPlan, capture, & edit photography and video content at project sites, events, & officesProduce short-form video clips for social media, website, and digital marketing channelsDevelop storyboards, scripts, and shot lists for video projectsDirect and oversee internal or external video and photo shootsMaintain and organize a digital asset library of photos and video footageEnsure all visual content aligns with brand standards, safety protocols, and schedulesDigital & Website Content ManagementOversee website content including news, project updates, blog posts, etc.Ensure consistency of messaging across website, social media, and external platformsCollaborate with internal teams or external vendor on website updates and enhancementsSocial Media StrategyHelp Coordinator develop and manage social media strategy and editorial calendarsReview and approve social media content to ensure quality, consistency, and brand voiceMonitor engagement and recommend content and platform optimizationsTeam Leadership & Creative DirectionManage and mentor graphic design team, setting priorities, timelines, creative directionReview and approve creative deliverables to ensure quality and brand alignmentCollaborate with designers on marketing materials, digital assets, presentations, proposals, and event collateralClient & Business Development SupportSupport client relationship growth through proposals, presentations, case studies, and marketing materials: help define project approach and other narratives in proposalsPartner with business development teams to communicate value propositions and project success storiesSupport client interviews, testimonials, and project highlight contentExecutive, Internal & Event CommunicationsSupport executive and leadership communications, including talking points, presentations, and thought leadership contentDevelop internal communications that align employees with company goals, culture, and achievementsSupport communications for groundbreakings, grand openings, community events, and industry eventsCoordinate messaging, media outreach, and post-event coverageVendor & Agency ManagementManage relationships with external vendors, agencies, photographers, videographers, and freelancers as neededOversee scopes of work, budgets, timelines, and deliverablesQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related5+ years of experience in communications, PR, or marketing, preferably within AECExceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skillsExperience managing media relations and creative teamsHands-on experience with photography, videography, and digital content creationPreferredProficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar photo/video editing toolsExperience producing short-form video content for social mediaFamiliarity with the Southwest construction marketSkills & CompetenciesStrategic thinker with strong execution skillsExcellent visual
