Title: Principal, Program ManagerLocation: San Leandro, CA (This role is 100% Onsite)Business Unit: ATI9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off.Job Description: Directs and manages prime government contracts for the design development, manufacturing, integration, testing, and delivery of one-of-a-kind high voltage, high current pulsed power systems for the United States Department of War (DoW) and Department of Energy (DOE). Responsible for managing a multidisciplinary integrated product team (IPT) to produce all contractually required hardware, software, and documentation deliverables. Coordinates with Government customer program managers and other internal and external stakeholders. Manages program costs (budgets, work packages, estimates at completion (EACs), etc.) and integrated master schedule. Manages program risks and opportunities (Rs & Os) throughout the program lifecycle. Leads internal program management review with Fisica senior leadership. Updates business forecasts based on anticipated program funding and milestone completion dates. You will build effective working relationships with external customers and internal teams with a focus on long-term growth and capture of follow-on opportunities. Improves program execution and processes for continuous improvement based on "lessons learned".Overall SummaryFisica ATI is seeking an experienced program manager to direct all aspects of high-visibility defense projects, working directly with Government customers. The hardware deliverables are high voltage, high current, high peak power electronic systems in support of nuclear security and stockpile stewardship.Nature of SupervisionWorks independently on a day-to-day basis and reports to the Director of Program Management. Attends weekly program management office (PMO), contracts, and financial meetings led by the Fisica Senior Leadership team (SLT).Communication & InfluenceCoordinates directly with outside customer organizations and other stakeholders. Directs the work of suppliers, subcontractors, etc. to execute program scope. Coordinates and works directly with other business functions within the company (contracts, finance, procurement, trade compliance, planning, etc.). Communicates and influences leadership regarding matters of substantial importance to the function or business area. Frequently conduct briefings to senior leaders and customers. Recognized as an internal expert and thought leader in area of expertise with broad experience across multiple job areas.Innovation & ComplexityResponsible for leading complex programs developing state-of-the-art capabilities, with scope that includes research and development (R&D), prototyping, and a significant systems engineering aspect. The program team(s) to be managed are largely comprised of highly educated / experienced engineers and scientists with demonstrated experience on past projects.Organization ImpactThe position has a direct and measurable impact on company financials (orders, sales, EBIT, and cash flow), company reputation, and the morale of internal teams. Furthermore, the role is a significant driver for the capture of follow-on opportunities and the management of existing customer relationships.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, or graduate degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, there is a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. Viewed as an expert and/or resource within the field by peers in and outside the organization. Due to specific US Government contract requirements, dual citizenship may not be accepted. This position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance. Eligiblity requires U.S. citizenship.Preferred Qualifications:Preferred candidate is an experienced professional with a broad knowledge of program management in the aerospace/defense industry at a prime government contractor.Engineering / technical background is a plus.Earned value management (EVM) experience and knowledge of typical contract data deliverables (CDRLs) and Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) for defense programs highly desired.Experience with DOE 413.3B acquisition process desired.In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $150,000 - $278,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
