Position Summary: As a Process Engineer Intern at Amphenol Industrial Operations, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting our manufacturing and assembly processes for innovative industrial products. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll learn how to apply engineering principles to real-world challenges, document and improve processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-technology environment. This internship is designed to give you exposure to sustaining engineering activities, new product introductions, and continuous improvement efforts. Hours: Flexible (10-40 hours per week) Pay: $21/hour Essential Duties and Responsibilities: As an intern you may be involved in: Assisting with documentation of manufacturing processes for components, connectors, cable assemblies, and harnesses Learning core product knowledge from Process Engineers Supporting documentation compliance with Quality System requirements, including helping with process validation Creating and maintaining accurate work instructions under supervision for new product introductions (NPIs) Collaborating with engineering services and internal teams to support departmental goals Observing and assisting in NPI builds for connectors, cable assemblies, or harnesses Conducting time studies and supporting the evaluation of time standards with Manufacturing and Assembly teams Contributing to project teams by supporting various design and process engineering tasks Developing organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills in a professional engineering setting Performs basic maintenance and assists with troubleshooting equipment Qualifications: Required: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related discipline) Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) Self-motivated and eager to learn in a collaborative environment Preferred: Exposure to manufacturing environments (through coursework, labs, or previous internships) Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software Interest in hi-mix/low-volume manufacturing Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
