Maintenance Engineering Technician Location: Liberty, NCWork Type: 100% OnsiteShift: 7:30 AM start | 10-hour shifts | Weekends & holidays as requiredTravel: ~30% domestic & international (including Japan after ~3 months)About the RoleK&K is seeking highly technical Seibi (Maintenance Engineering Technician) to support Battery Production Engineering operations. This role is electrical- and PLC-intensive, focused on machine setup, troubleshooting, automation support, and capital project execution through Start of Production (SOP).This position is ideal for a hands-on electrical professional who can write, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs, diagnose complex electrical systems, and support advanced manufacturing equipment in a high-volume production environment. Strong electrical and PLC troubleshooting experience is required.Key ResponsibilitiesTest, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, including:Electrical circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, and servo drivesProgram, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic (read, write, and build logic as needed)Troubleshoot and support:Servo motion systemsRobotics and vision/camera systemsSafety circuits and interlocks (NFPA 79 / ISO standards)Perform electrical diagnostics using meters:Voltage checksResistance (ohm) checksInsulation testing (megger)Support machine integration into mass production, including leveling, adjustment, and quality confirmationParticipate in production trials at vendors and within Toyota facilitiesCertify equipment safety via Safety Integrity ChecksDevelop detailed work schedules (Denwacho) and report status to managementSupport capital project planning and executionDocument work performed using written and electronic systemsDrive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivityRequired Qualifications3-5 years of industrial maintenance or electrical troubleshooting experienceStrong hands-on experience with:PLC programming (ability to explain, modify, and create logic)Electrical circuits, wiring, relays, and switchesServo motor troubleshootingExperience using electrical test equipment (voltage, ohm, and meg checks)Experience with robotics, automation, and safety systemsAbility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shutdownsWillingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30%)Steel-toe boots requiredBachelor's degree not requiredPreferred QualificationsTechnical Associate Degree or higher (or equivalent experience)Pre-production or new facility startup experienceCapital project or equipment installation experienceExperience in high-volume manufacturing or clean-room environmentsFamiliarity with:Standardized Work (STW)Job Instruction Sheets (JIS)Quality data collection and analysisWhat We're Looking ForStrong technical problem-solver with electrical depthTeam-oriented and willing to mentor othersSelf-starter with a positive, flexible attitudeComfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentDemonstrates Toyota Way values:Respect for PeopleContinuous Improvement (Kaizen)Interview ProcessOne interview (60 minutes)Includes technical electrical screeningCandidates must be able to explain:PLC logic modification and troubleshootingElectrical diagnostics and meter usageTry in your IDEJoin the Codex app waitlist
