Position SummaryThe Cleaning Specialist will be part of the cleaning team at The Hope Center, a ministry of Building Hope in the City (BHITC), responsible for maintaining a clean and safe facility throughout the week. This role also assists in watching for and reporting maintenance issues, as well as handling specialty cleaning as needed.Position DetailsPart-time, non-exempt position (15-19 hours per week)Set schedule Monday-Saturday, with some flexibility required for special meetings and events Work location is onsite at The Hope Center, 15135 Triskett Rd., Cleveland, OHReports to the Facilities ManagerPrimary Job DutiesCleaning Floors: Dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting as well as spot cleaning glass and windowsCleaning Offices/Restrooms/Classrooms:Including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing furniture and fixtures. Spot cleaning partitions, doors, and wallsMaintaining cleanliness of common areas/ hallways, and connection hubsEmptying trash and replacing liners. Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and requesting replenishments, as neededCollaborating with the other members of the cleaning team to ensure consistent and efficient cleaning operationsAssisting in set-up and tear down of events/ One World Kitchen (OWK) dinnersAdhering to cleaning schedules and completing assigned tasks within designated timeframesKey SkillsKnowledge of cleaning techniques (mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, glass cleaning, restroom cleaning)Safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment Attention to sanitation standardsBasic maintenance awareness - ability to notice and report facility issues (leaks, damage, etc.)QualificationsAbility to safely bend, move and twist to clean and operate cleaning tools/machineryAbility to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs Ability to stand on feet and work consistently for several hours without sittingReliable transportationAbility to pass a background checkAuthorized to work in the U.S. for any employerCompensation and BenefitsStarting at $ 15 per hour, commensurate with experienceAbout Building Hope in the CityBuilding Hope in the City (BHITC) is a fast-paced and growing organization that seeks to advance the good of the city, magnify the mission of Jesus, and unleash the capability of underestimated people.
