**Location:** Hickman Hospital **Department:** Pnr Non Dept Rev And Exp **Weekly Hours:** 20 **Status:** Part time **Shift:** Variable (United States of America) **Job Summary:** The Garden and Produce Truck Assistant will assist with the scheduled weekly route with the Veggie Mobile throughout Lenawee County to improve access to fresh and affordable produce. Assists in ProMedica Farms operations with hoop house and garden maintenance. **SCHEDULE** + Varied days Monday- Sunday + Flexible shift times + Seasonal position **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** **Education** : High school graduate or GED **Skills** : Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries. Requires ability to perform basic math. Must be able to work independently. Must have the ability to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas. **Years of Experience** : Previous gardening and or produce sales experience **License** : Valid driver's license and clean driving record, as demonstrated by a MVR in order to be covered under the Company's insurance policy. **Certification** : Food Handlers certification within 45 days of date of hire. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** **Skills** : Working Knowledge of local agricultural and food systems. Experience working with underserved populations. **WORKING CONDITIONS** **Personal Protective Equipment:** Mask and gloves as needed **Physical Demands:** Must be able to read and speak English. Must to able to lift, push or pull over 50 lbs on a routine basis. Frequent reaching/stooping/bending/kneeling/crouching. Frequent prolonged standing/walking/sitting. Must be able to tolerate a variety of weather conditions for prolonged periods of time, and both indoor and outdoor climates. Must be able to work with tools associated with gardening. Must be able to tolerate airborne irritants, dust, and other environmental irritants.
