Director of Maintenance & Facilities

We are seeking a hands-on Director of Maintenance, Tooling & Facilities to lead operations across two manufacturing sites. Reporting to the COO, this leader will oversee building operations, equipment reliability, and tooling lifecycle management while driving safety, efficiency, and cost control.Salary: $160-$170k + 10% Annual BonusMust-Haves:Plastics manufacturing experience (injection molding or extrusion required)Food industry background is a plusHands-on leadership styleStrong vendor management and contract negotiation skillsExperience managing Maintenance and Facilities teams across multiple locationsKey Responsibilities:Lead Facilities, Maintenance, and Tooling teams to ensure safety, maximize uptime, and reduce quality issuesDevelop long-term departmental plans for structure, staffing, and process improvementsManage maintenance budgets, identify cost savings, and oversee capital projectsEnsure utilities (compressed air, chilled water, inert gas) meet operational needsOversee internal teams, vendors, and contractors for equipment repair and building maintenanceConduct facility inspections, manage moves/changes, and review work ordersLead vendor management, contract negotiations, and service-level performanceMentor and develop team members and ensure alignment with company valuesIdeal Candidate:8-12+ years in maintenance, facilities, and tooling within manufacturing5+ years leading multi-disciplinary teamsStrong background in preventive/predictive maintenance and tooling lifecycle managementExperience with budgets, capital projects, and long-term asset planningKnowledge of OSHA and regulatory complianceFamiliarity with CMMS and maintenance KPIsStrong project management and problem-solving skillsIND8
