Company Overview Joby Flight Research designs, develops, and flight-tests novel aircraft using a software-first autonomy approach. We build and deploy autonomy, perception, planning, and radar systems across conventional, electric, and hydrogen-electric aircraft in both CTOL and VTOL configurations. Overview The Flight Research group at Joby works on advanced research projects: designing, building, and flying entirely new aircraft with novel airframe configurations, propulsion systems, and missions. To further enhance our capabilities, we require a versatile individual who can contribute in multiple areas. As a small, agile, and cohesive team, we value candidates who exhibit initiative, adaptability, and the capacity to handle a broad range of tasks to sustain the program's momentum. Responsibilities * Manage CI/CD infrastructure. * Maintain and improve cloud infrastructure for large multi-vehicle parallel simulations. * Manage separation of export controlled software from monorepo. * Maintain security best practices in DevOps processes and tools. * Help evaluating new technologies to promote our core tooling. * Promote best practices and collaborate with developer teams to establish best practices for how to use our cloud services. Required * 3+ years of experience in software engineering. * Proficiency in C++, Python, and Git. * Experience managing CI/CD infrastructure. * Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines. * Experience with one of the "Big Three" cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure). * Experience with Infrastructure as a Code (e.g. Terraform, Pulumi). * This position must meet US export control compliance requirements, therefore a candidate must qualify as a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15. "US Person" includes US Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees. Desired * Aerospace related work experience. * High proficiency with Bazel * Expertise in AWS. Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $121,000 - $205,000/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
