Accounting Intern - Summer 2026

**Job Description** **Summer Internship Accounting (Finance/Accounting Majors)** We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented junior/senior undergraduate student majoring in Finance or Accounting to join our team for a **Summer 2026 Internship** . This position will primarily support the **Accounting function,** providing hands-on experience with general ledger accounting and monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations while working closely with experienced accounting professionals. The internship offers practical, real-world accounting experience to corporate accounting processes and financial operations, along with mentorship and opportunities to build professional connections that may support future career development. As an intern you will participate in our nationwide Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP, where you will have the opportunity to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. This is an internship during the summer of 2026, and interns should expect the duration to be 10-12 weeks. Key Responsibilities + Assist with daily accounting operations + Support account reconciliation and journal entry preparation + Support the Fixed Assets team with FA register record maintenance, disposal process, and monthly email communication + Support the Intercompany team with billing backup support + Support the GL team with the check deposit process and system report generation + Assist with process improvements and automation + Assist the accounting team with **ad hoc projects, analysis and other activities as needed** **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Currently pursuing a bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + Strong interest in accounting + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS applications + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills + Effective written and verbal communication skills + Self-driven with ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Completed or currently taking Intermediate Accounting or Financial Accounting coursework + Familiar with accounting principles and basic financial statements + Experience with accounting ERP system is a plus **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $41142 - $55587 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan.
