We currently have 50+ locations servicing the Northeast U.S. corridor and Midwest-area with 3000+ customer centric professionals driven by the Sila mission.Position SummarySILA is seeking a highly organized and process-driven Legal Intern to support our General Counsel across 50 locations. This role is responsible for legal operations and infrastructure support, contracting and commercial support, mergers & acquisitions assistance, risk, compliance, and regulatory research, and privacy & data protection support.The ideal candidate should possess:Strong research and analytical skillsHigh attention to detailExceptional organization and process orientationStrong written and oral communication skillsProactive and resourceful problem-solving skillsProfessionalism, distortion and ethical judgementTech-savvy and comfortable with legal business toolsAbility to manage multiple workstreamsInterest in corporate compliance or in-house practiceCollaborative, positive, and low-ego working styleKey ResponsibilitiesLegal Operations & InfrastructureAssist in building and implementing legal department processes, workflows, and templates from the ground upHelp evaluate, select, and deploy contract management tools and document management systemsCreate and maintain a centralized repository for legal, contractual, and administrative documents across Sila's 47+ brandsTrack and organize outside counsel engagements, invoices, and legal spendCorporate Governance & Board SupportMaintain corporate records, including entity formation documents, operating agreements, and governance filings across multiple jurisdictionsSupport cap table maintenance and equity plan record-keeping in coordination with financeMergers & AcquisitionsAssist with legal due diligence on prospective acquisitions, including review of corporate, employment, real estate, and regulatory recordsDraft and review NDAs, ancillary transaction documents, and post-closing deliverablesSupport post-acquisition integration, including tracking earnout obligations, purchase agreement compliance, and successor liability issuesLabor & EmploymentResearch federal, state, and local employment law requirements across Sila's 18-state footprintReview and update employment policies, onboarding materials, and separation agreements for legal complianceContracting & CommercialReview, draft, and redline vendor, supplier, and customer-facing agreementsAssist in developing standardized contract templates and playbooks for use across Sila's portfolio of brandsTrack contractual obligations, renewal dates, and key commercial termsCustomer Disputes & ClaimsResearch consumer protection statutes and regulatory requirements applicable to home services in relevant jurisdictionsRisk, Compliance & RegulatoryResearch trade licensing, occupational licensing, and contractor registration requirements across Sila's operating statesResearch safety codes, building regulations, NEC requirements, OSHA standards, and FLSA complianceSupport development of compliance checklists and training materials for field operationsPrivacy & Data ProtectionResearch applicable federal and state privacy laws and assist with development of Sila's data privacy programReview digital marketing practices, customer data collection, and consent mechanisms for legal complianceHelp draft and maintain privacy policies, data processing agreements, and incident response proceduresReal EstateReview and abstract commercial leases across Sila's portfolio of locationsMaintain a lease tracking database with key dates, terms, and obligationsIndustry & Government RelationsResearch legislative and regulatory developments affecting the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical tradesMonitor proposed legislation related to trade job training credits, workforce development, and industry regulationRecommended Qualifications for Legal Intern CandidatesEducationCurrent law student (1L, 2L, or 3L), or recent graduate pursuing a legal or compliance-related career path.Undergraduates may also be considered if focused on pre-law or relevant fields.Preferred fields of study / majors / minors: Law (JD) -
