VME, a cross-functional team, focuses on three key areas: ensuring new designs are feasible via virtual assessment for assembly, developing and maintaining production standards, and planning the successful launch of new vehicle programs in assembly plants.ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll do...The Manufacturing Engineer candidate will join this team and be responsible for the following:Ensuring Manufacturing Delivery Quality Operating System (MDQOS) compliance for a specific subsystem (Electrical, Powertrain, Suspension, Exterior, Interior).Utilizing virtual tools to assess the feasibility of new model designs for high-volume assembly operations.Developing, modifying, and maintaining process sheets, along with delivering updated Cycle Line Layouts.Leading the identification, resolution, and closure of FAE (Final Assembly Engineering) issues.Creating and modifying DPA 5 and health chart GMRs (Global Manufacturing Requirements) based on lessons learned.Partnering with Product Development core engineering to align design requirements with GMR specifications.Serving as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for GMR deviation requests and necessary subsequent changes.Providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to VHM's, advanced program teams, ensuring best practices are applied to future model programs.Developing and participating in procedural updates, and managing procedure deviation requests.Writing and modifying 'best practice' standard process sheets for future model programs.Supporting the FAE generic control plan by adding new or updating existing requirements.Leading required changes for existing or new requests for global standard cells.Contributing to Departmental SQDCPMEI (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment, Innovation) initiatives.Interfacing effectively with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, and New Model Programs. QualificationsYou'll have...Bachelor's degree in Engineering4+ years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering 2+ years of experience w/automotive assembly tooling, processes and facilities Even better, you may have...Bachelor's degree in engineering Strong Project Management skills and result-oriented mindset Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.) 3D CAD review abilities (Teamcenter, VisMockup, 3DX, CATIA, or equivalent) Understanding of PFMEA and failure mode avoidance principles Knowledge in the following Ford software systems: FEDEBOM, WERS, VPS/APT, Teamcenter, JiraExperience in one or more of the following automotive systems: Interior, Exterior, Chassis, Powertrain, Electrical, Water test and Vehicle calibration testing Error proofing experience You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. This position is a salary grade 6-8 and ranges from $72,480-162,120.
