We believe that providing a rigorous, transformative education is a sacred duty and an expression of our deep care for our students' potential.Job SummaryWe seek a creative and collaborative English teacher with a passion for educational ministry and a commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy. The ideal candidate possesses an expert capacity in making high school level texts accessible to students and a proven track record in teaching writing and composition. Beyond classroom instruction, this role is vital to our "team effort" in supporting student growth; you will work directly with students in our Academic Resource Center to provide 1:1 and small-group interventions for students with academic need.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Collaborate with the English department and instructional leadership to provide college-ready instruction in literature and composition.Develop and implement comprehensive annual, unit, and lesson plans that include effective strategies for assessing student progress and learning.Dedicate scheduled time in the Academic Resource Center to provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping struggling students master essential ELA standards.Commit to serving all students, including those with learning differences, by implementing accommodation and specialized support as outlined in Learning Support Agreements.Actively participate in Department and Grade Level Team meetings, staff retreats, and school celebrations, viewing collaborative practice as essential to our mission.Fulfill weekly lunch-time prefect duties, attend school mass, and participate in Lasallian Youth Ministry and other school-related activities.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in English or a related field.Possess or be working toward an Oregon teaching license.Demonstrated experience working with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.Strong oral and written communication skillsSalary and BenefitsDOE.
