If you consider your work exceptional and want to help drive our mission forward, keep reading!About YouAs a Division Director of Finance Compliance, you will be responsible for the budgeting, payroll, insurance, tax compliance, financial audit, daily cash management, and internal control activities for TASB and where applicable, certain affiliated entities. You will also be responsible for the accounting and reporting activities of TASB's wholly-owned subsidiary and certain affiliated entities.This is an onsite position with potential for a limited hybrid schedule.How You'll Make an ImpactSets vision and is responsible for planning resources related to division-specific prioritiesEnsures effective solution-oriented communication with other departments in the organization, as well as with external partiesEnsures internal controls are in place and are operating, and that procedures are documentedResponsible for payroll functions, including approvals, confirmation of required reporting, tax remittances, and review of provider's SOC1 annual auditResponsible for the annual budget and budget amendment processes, as well as interim projection updates and summariesResponsible for outsourced internal control reviews, as well as ongoing internal control activities and management of process mapsResponsible for all internal financial reporting and external reporting such as IRS tax returns, 5500s, census reports, and various surveysServes as technical resource to staff and management, including providing a variety of research and analysis on accounting and tax matters as neededResponsible for daily cash management activities and banking relationships, including selection and implementation of relevant bank products and servicesResponsible for procurement of insurance coverage including, but not limited to, property, liability, crime, and workers' compensation, and the related administrative processesResponsible for the cost accounting process and cost of services analysisResponsible for the accounting functions and annual financial statement audit of First Public, TASB's wholly-owned subsidiary and a registered broker/dealerResponsible for the accounting functions and annual financial statement audits for certain affiliated entitiesReports financial and investment results to certain affiliated entity boardsProduct owner for TASB's budgeting and financial reporting solutionEvaluates, supervises, and directs the work and performance of duties of staffEvaluates and manages the professional development of staffPerforms other duties as assignedSkills For SuccessEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA or equivalent experience preferred.5 years of related work experience in the financial management of an entity and in payroll and its reporting requirements.Technical & Professional SkillsKnowledge of accounting processes and controls with the ability to pinpoint areas of weakness.Skilled at using ERP and HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office products.Collaboration & CommunicationExperienced supervisor with ability to manage people and projects.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Organized and detail oriented.Ability to work effectively with staff, management, and professional contracts.The TASB DifferenceEnjoy competitive pay and rich benefit offerings.Be part of a collaborative environment where every contribution impacts Texas public schoolchildren.
