If you re mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and ready to work on active job sites, this is a strong entry point into the Life Safety industry.About the Opportunity / What You ll Do:As a Sprinkler Fitter Helper, you ll work alongside licensed fitters and inspectors on new construction, tenant finish, and retrofit projects. You ll learn how fire suppression systems are built, tested, and maintained while gaining hands-on experience with system piping, hardware, and inspection procedures.You ll:Assist with installation of fire sprinkler piping, fittings, hangers, and supportsMeasure, cut, thread, and prep pipe under supervisionInstall branch lines, mains, and risers using proper methods and toolsHelp perform basic system walk-throughs and inspection support tasksAssist in tagging, identifying, and documenting system componentsCarry materials, stage job site tools, and maintain a safe, clean workspaceLearn to read installation drawings to identify pipe routes and system layoutsSupport testing procedures such as hydrostatic testing and visual inspectionsQualifications / Who You AreMechanical aptitude and interest in fire protection or mechanical tradesExperience using basic hand tools and power toolsAbility to lift, climb ladders, and work overhead for extended periodsComfort working in commercial construction environmentsWillingness to learn NFPA-related installation methods and inspection processesReliable transportation and strong work ethicAbility to work days, occasional nights, and overtime as requiredWhy TradeSTARTradeSTAR connects you with reputable fire protection contractors and gives you a pathway to grow Helper Fitter Lead Installer Inspector.
