CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift

Peninsula Plastics is looking for a hardworking and determined individual to take the role of CNC Machinist at our facility in Pontiac, MI. Please review the following information about our position before you click "Apply":Location: 1200 Auburn Ave, Pontiac, MI 48342Shift: 2nd Shift - 3:30PM to 11:30PM Monday to Friday, some weekends Pay: $22.00/hr to $28.00/hr with $0.75 shift premiumJob Description: Our company specializes in manufacturing re-usable plastic packaging and is a leader in the thermoforming industry. We are currently looking for a Pattern Shop associate. In this role you will be creating wood patterns, fabricating metal tools for production, and assisting daily operations. The ideal candidate has excellent wood working skills, metal working skills, and is eager to learn and teach. Reports to: Pattern Shop Manager (CNC Manager)Responsibilities:Produce wood patterns for PrototypingConvert aluminum foundry castings into a production ready toolCreate/Modify/Repair fixtures used to make thermoformed plastic components.Fill out ISO and procedure driven documentation.Perform and document calculations used to judge quality during production.Support production team with the tools that Pattern Shop helps to create.Maintain inventory of items needed to complete jobs on your schedule.Qualifications:Ability to use measuring equipment (Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Steel Rules, etc.)Expert in the use of Pneumatic tools: Die Grinder, 90 Degree Grinder/Drill, etc.Experience with band Saw, Table Saw, and Disk GrinderBridgeport preferred but not required.Able to work independently on projects and as a member of a teamGreat motivational and people skillsMust be self-motivatedMust be willing to learn new thingsAbility to think outside the box
