Associate Attorney

Description Distinguished litigation defense law firm in San Jose is seeking a motivated and talented Associate Attorney to join a growing practice. In this dynamic role as an Associate Attorney, you will play a critical part in the defense of complex insurance matters, working with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from national insurers to regional businesses. As a valued member of the litigation team, you will be entrusted with conducting thorough case analysis, formulating litigation strategies, managing discovery, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court proceedings. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about litigation, values flexibility, and is eager to take ownership of challenging cases from inception through resolution. Key Responsibilities: + Manage all phases of insurance defense litigation, including case evaluation, research, discovery, motion practice, negotiations, and trial preparation. + Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and court hearings. + Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses. + Collaborate closely with clients, expert witnesses, and firm partners to develop strategies and deliver optimal outcomes. + Maintain regular communication with clients, providing timely updates and legal counsel throughout each stage of the case. Requirements Requirements: + Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. + Active California State Bar membership (required). + Minimum of 2 years' experience in insurance defense litigation. + Strong legal research, analytical, and written/oral communication skills. + Proficiency with legal research platforms and litigation software. + Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload independently and collaborate as part of a team.
