Results-driven Cost Accountant with experience in CPG manufacturing, specializing in analyzing production costs, optimizing inventory valuation, and supporting data-driven decision-making. Skilled in standard costing, variance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and supply chain teams to improve efficiency and profitability. Adept at managing cost controls, budgeting, and financial reporting in fast-paced environments, with a strong focus on identifying cost-saving opportunities and enhancing overall financial performance. Attention to details and dedication to getting things right Maintain high level of organization, time management and project management skills, commitment to follow through, enthusiasm, and motivationPrimary Responsibilities and Essential FunctionsSupports the inventory management and close process Ensures inventory counts are logged, approved and posted appropriately Reconciles inventory variances and manages write offs and reserves Runs inventory valuation reports to ensure the GL ties to the inventory ledger and reconciles variances Manages and posts cost allocationsStandard Costing Development and Management Collaborates with the Operations team to lead the Standard Costing Process Gathers Standard Costing data to manage the systematic flow of standards and ensures costs and variances are flowing to correct accounts Completes the annual Standard Cost Roll in a timely manner and ensures appropriate standards are applied to each item Supports the Operations team with new items and ensure costing is set up appropriately Monitors BOM changes and validates costsCollaborates with the Operations Finance Manager with shared responsibilities to support the Company's cost and operations finance initiatives Supports with monthly close variance analysis (labor, overhead, material) Ensures that recurring errors or issues are addressed and correctedSupports the broader accounting team Audit support and compliance Cost of goods sold accounting supportEducation/ExperienceRequired: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting roles or related Experience with standard costing Experience with ERP systems and accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modelingPreferred: Master's in accounting or finance CPA License or equivalent certifications Knowledge within the CPG industryCharacteristics Needed to be Successful We are looking for someone with a passion for service.
