Nesco Resource has partnered with a prestigious law firm in Nassau County in their pursuit to hire a Legal Word Processing Supervisor. Based in Nassau County, this role is ideal for a Long Island professional seeking a sophisticated law firm position—without the daily trip into Manhattan. This is a hybrid position working 2 days/week remote and 3 days/week in their Uniondale, NY office. . The Legal Word Processing Supervisor oversees 1 Word Processing Specialist (plus 3 floaters) in support of a fast-paced litigation practice. This role leads and manages daily workflow within a ticket-driven environment while remaining actively engaged in the preparation and quality control of complex legal documents, including pleadings, motion papers, discovery materials, and appellate filings. The position requires advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including the use of firm macros, heading styles, tables of contents and authorities, complex numbering, and document comparison/redlining, as well as the ability to effectively prioritize competing court deadlines. Responsibilities: Supervise 1 Word Processing Specialist (+ 3 floaters) to include scheduling, employee development, and performance supervision Monitor, assign, and prioritize work requests through ticketing system based on priority and urgency Handle escalated requests and resolve competing deadlines Supervise the drafting, formatting, and quality control of complex legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda of law, answers, and discovery requests and responses. Ensure compliance with NYSCEF, Federal Court, and judge-specific formatting requirements Troubleshoot document corruption and complex formatting issues Train staff on legal formatting best practices Support users within the NetDocuments document management environment Track productivity and turnaround metrics Qualifications: 7–10+ years of legal word processing experience in a law firm environment a must 2+ years supervisory or lead experience a must Extensive litigation document production experience Insurance defense or high-volume litigation practice preferred Experience in a centralized document services department preferred Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Word (heading styles, numbering, templates, TOC/TOA, section breaks) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook NetDocuments document management system Kofax Power PDF Redlining and document comparison tools (Litera) Familiarity with NYSCEF and Federal E-filing Experience working in a ticket-based workflow environment $90,000-$95,000/yr PRO038 #LI-NB1 Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
