Job Description

About Cresset Cresset is a firm built by clients, for clients. As an independent, award-winning multi-family office and private investment firm, we are reimagining the way wealth is experienced. Our purpose is to help ensure that both wealth and life are fully optimized-integrated, intentional, and aligned with each client's vision of success. We provide access to the caliber of talent, ideas, and investment opportunities typically available to the largest single-family offices and institutions. Our approach is personalized, entrepreneurial, and client-first. Proudly owned by our clients and employees, Cresset was built to endure. We are creating a 100+ year firm-one focused on delivering an exceptional experience, not only for the families we serve but for the team that serves them. Recognized by Barron's and Forbes among the nation's top RIA firms, and as one of the industry's best places to work,* Cresset is guided by long-term relationships, shared success, and a belief that wealth should serve a life well lived. Position Overview Cresset Capital Management is seeking a senior, hands-on Head of Product - Trading & Portfolio Management to define and lead the firm's product vision, strategy, and roadmap across trading, portfolio analytics, and the full investment lifecycle. This role owns end-to-end product strategy and execution for Cresset's trading and investment decisioning ecosystem, spanning portfolio analytics, asset allocation, order generation, pre- and post-trade compliance, trade execution, settlement, and IBOR-driven workflows. The role serves as the strategic business owner for how investment intent flows from advisors and portfolio managers through execution and downstream operations. The immediate and primary focus of this role is ownership of the Charles River Development (CRD / CRIMS / CRE) platform as it transitions from implementation into a mature Business-as-Usual (BAU) operating model. Over time, this role will shape the evolution of Cresset's broader trading and portfolio analytics ecosystem. This is a critical leadership role at the intersection of investment strategy, trading operations, compliance, data architecture, and technology delivery. Key Responsibilities Product Vision, Strategy & Roadmap * Define and articulate a clear product vision for Cresset's trading and portfolio analytics platforms, aligned with the firm's investment philosophy and advisor-led wealth management model. * Own and maintain a multi-year product roadmap covering: * Portfolio analytics and performance measurement * Portfolio construction and asset allocation * Model management and rebalancing strategies * Order generation, staging, and aggregation * Pre-trade compliance and risk controls * Trade execution and broker routing * Post-trade compliance, allocations, and affirmations * Trade settlement, reconciliation, and exception management * Establish a disciplined product operating model including governance, prioritization, dependency management, and delivery cadence. * Balance innovation, regulatory requirements, platform stability, and operational scalability in all roadmap decisions. Trading, Portfolio Management & Analytics Domain Ownership * Act as the executive product owner and internal subject matter expert for trading and portfolio management workflows. * Own product decisions across the full investment lifecycle-from portfolio intent to settled trades. * Ensure platforms support: * Multi-asset class trading (equities, fixed income, ETFs, options, and other supported instruments) * Advisor-led and centrally managed portfolio models * SMA, UMA, and model-based investment strategies * Translate investment and trading requirements into clear product capabilities, platform configurations, and measurable outcomes. CRD Platform Ownership (Primary Focus) * Own the CRD platform post-implementation, transitioning it into a stable, well-governed BAU environment. * Drive continuous optimization of CRD across: * Portfolio and model management * Order creation, staging, and aggregation * Pre-trade compliance rule design and enforcement * Trade execution workflows and broker connectivity * Post-trade compliance, allocations, and reporting * Partner with vendors and internal teams on platform upgrades, release planning, regression testing, and configuration migrations. * Ensure CRD configurations support scalable, low-friction trading while maintaining strong compliance and risk controls. IBOR, Data & Integration Strategy * Own the IBOR interaction model, ensuring accurate, timely, and trusted positions, cash, and exposures across trading and portfolio analytics workflows. * Define how IBOR data is consumed and updated across: * Portfolio analytics and construction * Pre-trade checks and buying power calculations * Order generation and execution * Post-trade updates and reconciliation * Partner with Technology to oversee integrations with custodians, brokers, accounting systems, performance platforms, reporting solutions, and the enterprise data warehouse. * Ensure strong data governance, integrity, lineage, and observability across the investment platform ecosystem. Compliance, Risk & Control Enablement * Ensure product designs fully support pre-trade and post-trade compliance requirements. * Partner closely with Compliance and Risk to define rule logic, escalation workflows, and auditability standards. * Embed compliance and risk controls as first-class product capabilities rather than downstream checks. Execution, Settlement & Operational Excellence * Ensure clean, efficient handoffs from execution through settlement, including confirmations, affirmations, allocations, and reconciliations. * Drive reductions in manual processing, execution latency, and operational risk. * Define and track success metrics tied to trade efficiency, accuracy, and cycle times. Stakeholder Leadership & Enablement * Partner closely with Trading, Investments, Advisors, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams. * Serve as the single point of accountability for trading and portfolio analytics product outcomes. * Influence senior stakeholders through clarity of vision, strong execution, and data-driven decision-making. * Oversee training, documentation, and change management to drive platform adoption and advisor productivity.
