Machinist Assistant

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps and mixing & blending equipment used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. The Machinist Assistant is a proactive team player dedicated to keeping our machine shop running smoothly. Their main responsibilities include managing inventory efficiently and the staging of parts.Duties/ResponsibilitiesLabel boxes of parts with part number, job number and quantityPut parts on staging racks; not to exceed shelf capacity.Pull appropriate parts from racks for machining.Consolidate parts on skids or in boxes as needed.Unbox parts, remove packaging keeping the work area clean and clear of debris.Maintain cleanliness and organization of staging area.Conduct daily checks on forklift and abide by all safety standards.Load parts into machines when appropriate.Special projects as assigned.Required SkillsStrong work ethic and commitment to excellenceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEager to learn from and collaborate with a diverse teamCapable of bending, turning, and lifting up to 50 lbsAble to stand for up to 8 hours as neededEducation/ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED.Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.We offer a competitive salary with an excellent benefit package including a generous PTO policy, employer paid dental, vision and STD/LTD disability, life insurance and 90% employer paid health insurance, 401k with company match and profit sharing eligibility after one year of employment.
