Preschool Substitute Teacher

Minnehaha Academy is a PreK - 12 Christian school and a ministry of the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Our mission is to provide a high quality education integrating the Christian faith and learning. Minnehaha Academy has openings for preschool substitutes beginning for the 2025-2026 school year. DescriptionThe hours are 8:00-3:30 (with the possibility of until 4:30pm as needed) with an unpaid 30-minute lunch breakWage will be $150.00 per full day, pro-rated if work different hours that those aboveThere are no benefits available with this positionPurposeTo provide support to the preschool teachers in implementing the daily learning plans and schedulesTo assist preschool students in their developmental growth following the direction of the preschool teacherTo provide supervision of the preschool students in a calm and caring manner during the preschool dayPrimary FunctionsAssist in delivery of instruction and support the physical, cognitive, social and emotional well-being of the childrenAssist in day-to-day classroom operations Supervise children throughout the day, including lunch, recess, rest times and after school care (Extended Day Program) for preschool studentsQualifications include:High school diploma and either a). 2,080 hours as an aide or student intern or b). 12 quarter creditsExperience in Early Childhood and/or working with preschool children, parents and staffPassion for working and playing with childrenTimeliness, reliability and dependabilityStrong people skills to interact positively with the children, parents, and staffAbility to plan and implement age appropriate activitiesSupport and implementing the mission of the school Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification preferredAbility to complete a background check and DHS required training and courses Ability to lift 40 poundsYou can learn more about Minnehaha Academy and apply on-line by visiting our website Please attach a resume with your application.
