Location - Milpitas, CA - All 5 days onsite Duration - 6+ Mos Payrate - Low in market Skills - Certified Electrical Lab Technician Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Electrical Lab Technician with extensive experience in the medical device industry . The ideal candidate will support electrical testing, soldering, wire crimping, cable assembly, and laboratory validation activities in a regulated environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and hands-on expertise with electrical assemblies and test equipment. Key Responsibilities Electrical Lab & Testing Support Perform electrical, functional, and safety testing of medical device components and systems. Set up, operate, and maintain electrical lab equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, hipot testers, and continuity testers. Execute test procedures and accurately document results in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. Support engineering with failure analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations . Soldering & Cable Assembly Perform precision soldering and rework on PCBAs and electrical assemblies in accordance with IPC standards . Execute wire crimping, cable harnessing, and connector assembly to engineering drawings and specifications. Inspect solder joints, crimps, and assemblies for workmanship quality and compliance. Support prototype builds, production units, and rework activities. Documentation & Compliance Follow and support FDA QSR, ISO 13485, and internal quality system procedures . Maintain accurate lab records, test logs, build documentation, and deviation reports . Assist with engineering change orders (ECO/ECN) and documentation updates. Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required. Equipment & Lab Maintenance Calibrate, maintain, and organize test equipment and lab tools . Ensure lab activities comply with ESD, safety, and cleanliness requirements . Identify opportunities for lab process improvements and efficiency gains. Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field , or equivalent hands-on experience. 7+ years of experience as an Electrical or Electronics Lab Technician, preferably in the medical device industry . Certification in soldering (IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or equivalent). Strong hands-on experience with wire crimping, cable assembly, and connector terminations . Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and test procedures . Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or test environment . Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and quality mindset.
