Great temp to hire opportunity! Pridestaff is currently seeking a PM Shift Extrusion Machine Operator /Forklift for a Plastic manufacturing company located in Ontario, CA. This is a full-time, temp to hire opportunity. Company has great benefits and stock options once hired! Please see job requirements below to be considered.Pay rate: $21.00 to $22.00Shift: 2nd Shift, 5:00pm to 5:00am (B or D shift; will be working every other weekend)SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Extrusion Manager and Team Leads, the Extrusion Operator is responsible for operating an Extrusion machine in a safe and controlled manner. In addition, the Extrusion Operator loads cores, removes finished rolls, performs quality checks, and properly labels, packages, and stages film products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Follows all safety and work procedures to ensure a safe, productive work environment; checks to ensure all safety guards are in place and working properlyPerforms setup and operates extrude to produce product according to quality and productivity requiresTroubleshoots equipment, web handling, and other production issuesDetects and solves problems related to product quality, aesthetics, and/or contaminationAdjusts machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, temperatures, amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials or raw materialsRecords and maintains production dataAssists with replacing preventive maintenance activitiesAssist in training other team membersInspects quality of rolls before production beings and continuously checks quality of the line as product is producedEnsures material meets customer requirementsCompletes all required paperwork and formsUpdate Daily Management System at the end of each shift; provides daily communication to coworkers, maintenance, and management team membersForklift experience Machine Operator skills Work with Heat and plasticcs Read work ordersLoad cores and 90 lb shafts onto machine. Participants in continuous improvement activitiesAbility to see colorsLift up to 40 poundsCompletes a minimum of one safety behavior observation/near miss report each monthPosition requires flexibility to include shift changes and overtime; must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as requiredRegular, predictable, and reliable attendancePerforms other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSEducationHigh School diploma or GED requiredProfessional backgroundMinimum of 1-year experience as an extrusion operator in a plastic6 months Forklift experience packaging environment or equivalent machine operator experienceAbility to read a tape measureAbility to perform basic mathematical problemsSoft skillsBilingual in Spanish, is a plus but not requiredAttention to DetailOrganizational SkillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in team environmentPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is consistently stand, walk, climb, stoop or kneel, reach with arms and hands, and talk or hear. Manufacturing work environment may be loud, with varying temperatures. The incumbent will work with inks and solvents with strong odors and other chemicals as part of the manufacturing process.
