The selected candidate will be instrumental in building, assembling, and testing critical components that enable our spacecraft and payload systems. This role is ideal for someone passionate about precision fabrication, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in delivering high-quality hardware that will venture into deep space.ResponsibilitiesFabricate and assemble structural and mechanical components for spacecraft hardware.Perform precision machining, welding, and metal finishing using a variety of tools and equipment.Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and work instructions to produce high-quality parts and assemblies.Assist with the integration of fabricated components into larger assemblies and test setups.Collaborate closely with engineers to refine designs for manufacturability and efficiency.Inspect parts and assemblies for quality assurance, ensuring compliance with tight tolerances.Maintain shop equipment, tools, and a safe, organized work environment.Support rapid prototyping, iteration, and testing efforts to accelerate development cycles.RequirementsDemonstrated experience in fabrication, machining, or assembly of precision mechanical systems.Skilled in operating tools such as mills, lathes, welders, grinders, and sheet metal equipment.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and assembly instructions.Knowledge of materials commonly used in aerospace (aluminum, titanium, composites, stainless steel).Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and craftsmanship.Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative startup environment.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Benefits100% paid medical, dental, and life insurance coverageVision and FSA benefits available3 weeks of PTO + 1 week of sick time10 paid HolidaysRetirement savings plan - 401(k), with company matchEquity on the ground floor of a startupSalary$35-45 per hourITAR RequirementsTo conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
