Are you ready to make an impact?2050 Partners, now a part of West Monroe is seeking a mission-driven Manager to lead energy efficiency efforts in our appliances practice area. As a Manager, you will support federal and state appliance efficiency standards advocacy, product testing to support energy efficiency requirements and specifications, and market research and data collection to inform cost-benefit analyses and strategic planning. You will manage a team of consultants and subject matter experts to develop and analyze primary and secondary data, preparing and submitting comment letters, testimony, reports, data briefs, and presentations to state and federal agencies to advance appliance energy efficiency.We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional client service, dedicated to our mission of meeting state, federal, and international carbon mitigation goals, and enthusiastic about growing with our dynamic consulting firm.ResponsibilitiesBe a Trusted Advisor to our clients by providing pragmatic advice based on defensible data and analysis.Manage complex federal and state appliance standards advocacy programs, including:Scoping, prioritizing, and launching new projects consistent with program strategy.Directing primary and secondary research.Procuring test equipment and arranging laboratory tests.Supporting laboratory and field investigations.Fostering coalition-building.Supporting legal, regulatory, and policy reviews.Managing program, project, and subcontractor scope and budget.Ensure appliance lab testing best practices and support technical experts in planning and overseeing analysis of laboratory and field data to provide insights into product efficiency improvements.Oversee and support engagement with external stakeholders such as manufacturers, industry associations, regulators, and efficiency advocates to build consensus around appliance efficiency standards and test procedures.Oversee production of high-quality deliverables, including spreadsheets with supporting calculations, memos, reports, and presentations.Contribute to business development by overseeing the development of and contributing content for proposals.Supervise and mentor staff to advance in their careers.Qualifications:Required QualificationsBachelor's degree is required; a higher degree (e.g., master's or Ph.D.) in a relevant field can substitute for years of relevant experience.12+ years of work experience in a relevant field.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.Experience managing client relationships.Proven project management experience with a successful track record.Strong initiative, creativity, and curiosity; ability to work independently and collaboratively.Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to adapt technical material for broader audiences.Demonstrated ability to write reports, technical papers, and provide technical presentations to knowledgeable audiences.Confidence, enthusiasm, humility, and the highest ethical standards.Desired QualificationsExperience supervising others and/or managing subcontractor relationships.Familiarity with state and federal appliance efficiency standards, such as:California Title 20 appliance standards.U.S. Department of Energy appliance standards.ENERGY STAR.New York State Appliance and Equipment Efficiency Standards.Knowledge of the national energy efficiency landscape, including work conducted by:National laboratories.National energy efficiency advocacy organizations.U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.U.S. Department of Energy.Desire to work in a remote environment with colleagues throughout the U.S.Based on our pay transparency guidelines, a reasonable expectation for the salary range for this role is listed below. Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity. The salary range listed reflects all West Monroe geographies. The salary range for your particular geography may be different. Employees in proximity of our Seattle, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco offices will have a geographic premium applied to this salary scale.
