Fleet Mechanic

The Village of Lake Zurich is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to help maintain and repair gas, diesel, and electric municipal trucks, heavy equipment, and public safety vehicles.Starting salary will be between $70,304 (33.80/hour) and $75,296 (36.20/hour) annually depending on education and experience. This position is eligible for overtime.All tools and specialty equipment is provided by the Village of Lake Zurich.Job Description: This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all municipal vehicles and will require the individual to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and install specialized emergency equipment.Education, Experience and Licenses:High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree or successful completion of a recognized technical trade school in automotive, truck or diesel technology is preferred.Possession of a valid Illinois Class A commercial driver's license with full air brake and tanker endorsements within six months of hire with on-the-job training provided and paid for.
