Each interaction with workshop participants, faculty and fellow staff members, creates the Omega experience. Job DescriptionLaundry Staff: non-exempt, full-time or part time. Reports to Housekeeping Manager.SummaryHousekeeping is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the public bathrooms and the preparation of participant housing on transition days (usually every Friday and Sunday). Other responsibilities include linen pick-up delivery and the ordering/ delivery of paper products and supplies.The laundry facility is equipped with commercial washing and drying machines, and functions as Omega's operational laundry facility. Housekeeping/Laundry Staff are responsible for washing, drying, folding and organizing; bed linens, towels, and blankets.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Washing, drying and folding linens, blankets, etc. in Omega's operational laundry facility.Making dorm kits.Pick-up of dirty linens from other departments.Other duties as required by Supervisor.Work DetailsThis position functions indoors (air-conditioned, laundry facility) and outdoors on the Omega campus.This is a full-time or part-time position. Weekend availability is required.Physical RequirementsAbility to work frequently in outdoor weather conditions.Ability to frequently move items that weigh 50 pounds for various needs.Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.Ability to traverse a hilly campus in diverse weather conditions.Ability to position self to perform diverse job tasks as necessary.Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Seasonal staff receive a compensation package that includes: WageOne delicious meal during each work shiftAccess to Omega's staff benefitsThis compensation package is at minimum equivalent to the New York State minimum wage.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
