Mechanical Design Engineer

Work within a fast-paced team tasked with the design of sheetmetal enclosures, weldments, and other applicable customer designs. Duties and Responsibilities: Layout and design to support of quotations, orders and manufacturing projects Ensure that standard shop practices and capabilities meet the design requirements and are reflected in designs and drawings Secondary tasks include troubleshooting calls, calling vendors, update ECR's, contacting customers Play a key role in manufacturing and productivity improvements Solve manufacturing and assembly issues on the shop floor, both for short term and long term solutions Assist to launch new product development Conduct reviews of jobs released to the floor Work towards continuous improvements for cost reductions and quality improvements Work with quality, purchasing, assembly, and design staff to ensure efficiency Desired Skills: High level of SOLIDWORKS Proficiency Knowledge in an ERP system along with PDM experience preferred Experience in sheet-metal & weldment design is desired Familiarity with manufacturing processes and able to work with changing priorities Hands on individual who can work from concept through implementation Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design or related field desired
