Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Employment Status: Full-time Classification: Non-exempt Location: Van Nuys, CA Work Location: On-siteWork Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm PST Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join the finance team of our medical billing company. This role requires a strategic professional who can manage high-value accounts with professionalism and persistence. The ideal candidate combines excellent interpersonal skills with a results-driven approach to collections, maintaining composure while pursuing outstanding balances effectively.Key Responsibilities:Manage and collect on high-value accounts ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 per customerConduct outbound collection calls to healthcare facilitiesNavigate complex conversations with challenging stakeholders while maintaining professional relationshipsNegotiate payment plans and settlements on large outstanding balancesResearch and resolve billing disputes, denials, and payment discrepanciesDocument all collection activities and maintain accurate account recordsEscalate unresolved issues to management when appropriateCollaborate with billing and operations teams to prevent future payment delays Required Qualifications: Minimum 3-5 years of accounts receivable or collections experienceProven track record managing accounts with balances of $50,000 or higherExperience working with difficult or unresponsive clients and achieving positive outcomesMedical billing or healthcare revenue cycle experience strongly preferredExceptional phone presence with ability to remain composed under pressureStrong negotiation skills with a persistent, results-oriented mindsetExcellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detailProficiency with billing software and Microsoft Office Suite Ideal Candidate Characteristics: Maintains professional composure while pursuing collections aggressivelyComfortable having difficult conversations and handling objectionsSelf-motivated with strong sense of urgencyDemonstrates resilience and doesn't take rejection personallyStrategic thinker who can assess situations and adapt approach accordinglyStrong work ethic with commitment to achieving collection goalsBilingual English & Armenian required Benefits: Health Insurance Vision Insurance Dental Insurance 401(k) plan with matching contributionsCodeMax is a participating employer in the federal E-Verify program.
