Environmental Engineer

Details: IntroductionVisium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Part-Time Environmental Engineering position. This position is a contract opportunity which is expected to be on-site in Anaheim, CA for a duration of 10 Months. Work Schedule is 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The team is flexible; however, this resource will be working on a part-time basis of 16 hours per week.Environmental Engineer - P1 (Hazardous Waste)In this dynamic role, the Engineer supports the program implementation for the nonhazardous and regulated waste programs. Routine work includes regulatory review and feedback, TSDF audits, maintaining waste profiles, preparing reports for government agencies, and developing internal standards and communication pieces. You will have an advanced understanding of the federal, state, and local solid waste regulatory frameworks and expertise working with internal partners and regulating agencies.Hazardous Waste:Review and provide input on DTSC, EPA, and DOT regulatory changesInternal compliance inspections (weekly, monthly)Support end-point disposal facilities (e.g., desk audits of TSDFs)Create and maintain hazardous waste profilesCoordinate or provide Hazardous Waste Handler training to employeesReview sampling data to make waste determinationsCreate and sign manifestsCoordination with construction project disposal needs Nonhazardous WasteReview and provide input on CalRecycle regulatory changesCompliance reporting & data managementCreate and maintain nonhazardous waste profilesCoordination with construction project disposal needs Program SupportCreate and maintain internal communication pieces (e.g., Team Talks)Job RequirementsDetails: Required:0-2 years of work experience managing hazardous and other regulated waste compliance programs in CaliforniaDemonstrated ability to lead a field teamExperience with environmental sampling and analysis proceduresExperience with the chemistry of hazardous materialsExperience working with regional, state, and federal agenciesStrong communication skills and ability to work with partners of all levelsPreferred:2+ years in hazardous waste, solid waste, and recycling compliance programsProven experience in environmental complianceOrganizational skills to manage multiple project deliverablesUnderstanding of Cal Recycle regulatory programsUnderstanding of DTSC regulatory programsUnderstanding of the California Medical Waste Management ActUnderstanding of DOT/PHMSA requirements for the transportation of hazardous materialsPossession of, or ability to obtain, CHMM or CHMPEducation:B.S.
