BCI is a leading and innovative company specializing in the development of market-driven products for the transmission of digital multimedia (video, audio, and data) over fiber.Many of BCI's clients are world leaders in their industries, which span a wide variety of industry segments including entertainment, broadcast, medical, professional audio/video, house of worship, education, government, military, and transportation.Job SummaryThe Senior Buyer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day purchasing activities within assigned areas of our Manufacturing Department. This position will be responsible for purchasing and materials logistics to support all stages of product development, working side by side with engineers and manufacturing personnel in a dynamic and engaging environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the Corporation's success, ensuring that we continually meet required production schedules as well as managing end-to-end materials procurement for internal developments.This is a hands-on position. This is NOT a remote or hybrid position.Key Responsibilities:Manage RFQ and PO processesIdentify new suppliers and negotiate pricesParticipate in S&OP process including demand and material planning for assigned product portfolios/vendorsAnalyze material inventory and accountable for maintaining sufficient safety stock and inventory projection for the materialsBalance material demand/supply to minimize stockout risk by analyzing current inventory, forecasting needs, and scheduling supplier's shipmentsAccountable for creating Purchase Orders in ERP system, maintain accurate open PO lines to define inbound quantities and due dates from suppliers, track in transit shipments, and expedite deliveries as neededDevelop and maintain relationships with suppliers, and effectively manage quality service / product performance issues with suppliers.Communicate material quality and delivery change requirements to suppliers in an MRP environmentPurchase materials and services, obtaining maximum value in terms of price, quality, and deliveryThis position is ideal for a self-starter with a proactive, ownership mentality who can make decisions of consequence in a fast-paced environment.Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree, with 5 years of relevant experience,or Associate's degree, with 10 years of relevant experienceCertifications from Industry associations is a plus (C.P.M.).5 years of relevant experience (with Bachelor's degree),or 10+ years of relevant experience (with Associate's degree)Experience in high-tech manufacturing/production environment a plusUnderstanding and hands-on experience with manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems such as SAGE or equivalent.Skills & Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to commit and work under deadlinesStrong mathematical and analytical skills; demonstrated proficiency working with large data setsMust be able to work in a challenging and engaging work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, accountability, and professional development.Benefits:Medical, vision and dental insurance401(k) with company match (100% of the first 4% in eligible compensation)Flexible Spending Account 2 weeks paid vacation1 Week sick pay10 company holidaysVoluntary life insuranceSalary Range:$70,000 - $90,000 AnnuallyPay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
