Position Type: Special EducationDate Posted: 3/6/2026Location: District Office/District WideDate Available: 08/26/2026Closing Date: open until filledInstructional Behavior Coach: TOSA1.0 FTEDistrict-wideStart date: August 26, 2026Position Summary:The Instructional Behavior Coach TOSA position will support students and staff with addressing behavior needs of students that interfere with learning and teaching, thereby helping students experience school success. Through modeling and training from the coach, we will increase staff knowledge and capacity to address challenging behaviors and the ability to be proactive. For students on IEP's, this would include training and coordindating the use of functional behavioral assessments and positive behavioral support plans where the students' needs warrant the behavioral skill development related to the disability needs. This position works to help staff continuously improve their individual and collective instructional capacity to improve student learning. This position will provide staff support and training around adopted assessment and curriculum tools. The Instructional Behavior Coach will be a member of the collaborative threat assessment team to assist with "Level 1 Threats", which includes developing and monitoring comprehensive care or safety plans with school leadership and with support of the district Threat Assessment Specialist. Position Description/Qualifications:Knowledgeable of current best practices in the field of Special Education, specifically in the area of behavior, due process, and social emotional learning, with evidence of the continuing pursuit of such knowledgeExperience with data analysis and data-driven decision making to support instruction and behavior interventionsEffective skills in the area of time management, task prioritization, problem solving and development of solutionsEffective written and oral communication skillsMinimum of three years' teaching experience teaching special education students and/or working with students with significant behavioral challengesValid Minnesota Teaching License in any Special Education licensure area.
