Claims Associate

Essential FunctionsAssist clients with claim reporting by collecting relevant information and submitting on their behalf.Obtain confirmation of new claims including claim number and adjuster assignment.Effectively utilize MJ's client management system and document management system in order to appropriately document claim activity.Provide ongoing monitoring of open claims through internal diary system. Obtain status from carrier based on type of claim and severity. Educate clients on the claim handling process.Address client claim-related concerns and inquiries on a daily on-demand basis. Respond to pre-determined internal inquiries, obtaining and relaying information as requested.Assist with formal client onboarding to include tailored form creation and carrier website access and training.Complete annual checkup of special handling guidelines per clientCollaborate with and support the Commercial Claim team. Technical FunctionsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, OutlookEntry level knowledge of property/casualty insuranceEffectively utilize access to various carrier websites, developing proficiency in navigating portalsPhysical DemandsThis position is mostly sedentary. Required EducationBachelor's degree in business or related area; work equivalentProperty & Casualty license (or ability to obtain)A minimum of 2-5 years experience in the insurance industry in a Claims or related positionDemonstrated skills: sense of urgency, detail-oriented, excellent organizational and time management skillsProven ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaborate among the team daily and contribute to MJ's culture.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional presentation
