For more information, visit . **Feedmill Maintenance** **Full Time - Hourly** **1** **st** **shift Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm** + **Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa.** + **Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.** + **Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)** **At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $27 - $38 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.** **Purpose of Position** : Safely and efficiently operate, maintain and repair feed mill equipment, utilizing preventive and emergency procedures to ensure the timely manufacturing of feed for turkeys. Also, help other employees with safety, customer service, quality control, productivity and cost control by providing involvement in feed mill management and operating decisions/problem solving. **Working Conditions:** Working environment includes both indoor and outdoor activities. Exposure to all weather conditions is possible. Position requires the ability to work from extreme heights and in small spaces. Physical effort is required for working with various machines and equipment. Must have ability to work within a dusty environment and lift 75 pounds. **Principal Accountabilities** : + Maintain and continually update preventive maintenance programs for all equipment within the department. + Document maintenance programs + Document maintenance performed + Maintain inventory of equipment and the listing of physical characteristics such as type, serial number, shaft sizes speeds, etc. + Carry out Maintenance plan + Daily inspection of all equipment + Regular weekly greasing and oiling. + Report all large jobs to plan for in house schedule. + Report parts needed to complete repairs. + Help plan for manpower needed for large maintenance and equipment modification projects. + Maintain and trouble shoot electrical system + Maintain and update program to stock and re-stock necessary replacement parts to minimize equipment downtime. + Maintain the maintenance shop + Train co-workers in equipment maintenance and equipment repair + Be knowledgeable in all equipment operating functions within the feed mill. + Perform all housekeeping duties required to maintain a clean and safe working environment. + Perform monthly quality control tests and make appropriate adjustments of equipment. + Oversee operation of the Steam Generator (Boiler). + Complete daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance duties as outlined by the manufacture. + Ensure soft water at all times. + Maintain and ensure proper operation of the hot water heating system. + Complete all company assigned safety training on time **Qualifications** + Must meet biosecurity requirements; cannot own, handle, or care for pet birds, chickens, domestic poultry, or hogs + 3-5 years of maintenance experience + Mechanical knowledge and problem‑solving abilities + Welding/fabricating skills + Ability to read, write and communicate in English + Ability to twist, turn, bend, reach, and grasp + Ability to work in dusty environments and lift 75 pounds + Must be able to work at extreme heights and in small spaces + Possess the appropriate boiler operating license + Excellent attendance **What you will receive:** + Competitive pay with pay increases + You will be trained on all equipment and procedures to prepare you for your role + Extraordinary benefit package including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage.
