One of the following required:Associate degree or higher 60 semester hours of coursework High School Diploma or GED and a score of 460 or higher on the ETS Parapro High School Diploma or GED and the following scores on the ACT Workkeys:Applied Mathematics/Applied Math (with a score of 4) Reading for information/Workplace Documents (with a score of 4) To obtain a Short-Term Paraprofessional license that is valid for 3 years: High school diploma (or equivalent), or higher While working on the approval, educator must be fulfilling requirements for the full license Performance Responsibilities: This employee is responsible for assisting students in feeding, health needs, mobility, personal hygiene, and monitoring self-control. This employee may also be asked to reinforce skills introduced by the teacher by working individually with a student or with a small group of students. Also, this employee will supervise/assist students during arrival and dismissal. In addition, this employee is responsible for preparing classroom materials for instruction and perform other job-related tasks assigned by the teacher/supervisor. Physical Demands:Sit, stand, talk and hear for extended periods of time, operate electronic equipment; and reach with hands and arms and will repeat actions with the same hand, arm or finger motion. Have vision abilities required include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. (The ability to withstand long-term use of computer devices is required.) To have occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and significant finger dexterity actions.
