Position Type: Administration/DirectorDate Posted: 3/13/2026Location: Maplewood Richmond Heights Central OfficeDate Available: 07/01/2026Closing Date: 05/31/2026Supervisor: SuperintendentPrimary Responsibilities:The Executive Director of Human Resources and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of the district's human capital systems, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, professional development, and leading the District in fostering an inclusive community. The Executive Director works collaboratively with district leadership to ensure the district attracts, develops, and retains a highly qualified workforce while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. This position supports the district's mission by fostering a positive organizational culture and implementing strategic human resource practices and district policies and procedures that promote effective teaching and learning. Qualifications/Experience: • Minimum requirement of a Master's degree in Educational Administration, human resources or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in human resources, personnel administration, or educational leadership. • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations. • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism. • Strong interpersonal communication skills. • Experience working in a public school district or educational organization preferred. • Hold a valid Missouri Administrator's Certificate • Doctorate and SHRM Certification preferred. Terms of Employment: Employed for a twelve-month period as a certified administrator with salary and benefits to be set by the superintendent and Board of Education.Key Responsibilities:District Leadership and Strategic HR Management • Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of district goals and Board policies. • Interpret and clarify district policies, procedures, and expectations to staff, students, and the community. • Prepare and submit recommendations, reports, and presentations to the Board of Education. • Analyze and present HR metrics, trends, and key performance indicators to support data-informed decision-making. • Collaborate with district leadership to align human capital strategies with district priorities. Employee Relations and Workplace Culture • Provide HR guidance and support to school leaders and staff. • Manage employee relations matters, including grievances, complaints, and workplace investigations. • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to address employee concerns and resolve issues effectively. • Coach supervisors on performance management, discipline, and policy interpretation. • Develop strategies that promote employee engagement, satisfaction, and a positive workplace culture. Talent Acquisition and Workforce Management • Lead recruitment and selection of teachers, administrators, and support staff. • Screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and support hiring decisions. • Oversee onboarding processes to ensure new employees successfully transition into the organization. • Represent the district's mission, vision, and culture to prospective employees. • Oversee substitute teacher staffing and workforce planning initiatives. HR Operations and Compliance • Manage employee records and the Human Resources Information System. • Maintain confidential personnel files and ensure the accuracy of HR data. • Process employee status changes, including hiring, promotions, transfers, and separations. • Develop, update, interpret, and enforce employment policies and procedures. • Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Compensation, Benefits, and Leave Administration • Oversee administration of employee benefits programs and wellness initiatives. • Support open enrollment and benefits communication for employees. • Manage leave programs, including FMLA, parental leave, and medical leave. • Resolve compensation disputes in accordance with district policy and established guidelines. • Collaborate with payroll and finance staff to address compensation and benefits, issues.Performance Evaluation and Professional Development • Manage the district's employee performance evaluation system. • Provide training to supervisors on evaluation procedures and performance management. • Provide career counseling and support professional growth for teachers, administrators, and support staff. • Coordinate professional learning opportunities aligned to district priorities. Personnel and Department Management • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate Human Resources department staff. • Foster professional growth and development within the HR department. • Oversee the Human Resources department budget and related operational functions. • Ensure the efficient operation of HR services across the district. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Management • Develop, implement, and evaluate a districtwide strategy to increase cultural competence, address implicit bias, and advance equitable outcomes for all students. • Lead professional learning and provide guidance to school leaders and staff on culturally responsive and sustaining practices that support student success. • Analyze disaggregated student and staff data to identify opportunity gaps and develop targeted strategies to address disproportionality in academic and non-academic outcomes. • Review district policies, programs, and practices to assess their impact on equity and recommend improvements that ensure fair and equitable access to resources and opportunities. • Establish and monitor key performance indicators and regularly report progress on equity initiatives to district leadership and the Board of Education. • Coordinate internal and external partnerships, facilitate district and school-based equity teams, and manage resources that support the implementation of equity-focused initiatives.
