We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have a Controller opportunity with a nonprofit multi-specialty medical group in Phoenix, Arizona, employing 750+ staff and serving the community for 30+ years with a strong commitment to patient care, education, research, and community health. The Controller is responsible for below specific duties. Your specific duties will include: Lead and manage the monthly financial close process, including review of contractual adjustments and bad debt allowances prepared by the Assistant Controller. Supervise and support the accounting team, including the Assistant Controller, Accounts Payable Specialists (2), Staff Accountant, and Cash Receipts Coordinator. Develop and maintain the accounting department calendar to ensure timely financial reporting and compliance. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and financial analyses. Coordinate with external accountants on the preparation and annual filing of Form 990. Oversee the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns. Calculate monthly employer contributions to the company 401(k) plan. Serve as the primary contact for the annual financial statement audit, including preparation of required PBC schedules. Monitor organizational cash flow and bank accounts to ensure proper cash management. Required qualifications for the position include: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required. 5+ years of experience in healthcare financial management, including accounting leadership and staff supervision. Preferred qualifications for the position include: CPA certification preferred. Pay Rate Range: $130,000 annually, plus bonus Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
