Maintenance Supervisor job summaryOur fast-growing, technologically driven manufacturing client is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to supervise, plan, and coordinate the efforts of a variety of service providers in meeting the physical needs of their facility. You will coordinate these activities with the Facility Manager and oversee the maintenance of buildings and grounds, the provision of utilities for comfort, the restoration and renovation of facilities and new construction. Maintenance Supervisor responsibilitiesWIll pay $30-36/hr DOE + benefitsManage an effective maintenance team.Continually review and improve the maintenance strategy for effectiveness.Understand the business drivers and monitor those associated with maintenance so any necessary actions can be taken as soon as possible to address the situation.Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness to ensure all subordinates are aware of standards expected.Excellent understanding of the implementation of maintenance strategies.Lead the execution of routine daily maintenance, assuring that all responsibilities are dealt with accordingly.Deliver cost effective maintenance solutions by continual review of methodology utilized while ensuring technical integrity and optimum cost.Instruct support staff in safety, training, instruction, and correctionResponsible for hazardous waste disposal programs in coordination with Production Floor Manager.Conduct tests of new components, assemblies and systems based on test criteria as established by policies and procedures and/or written test plans and report to the Production Floor Manager.Operate required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintain a neat and clean work area, and report any unsafe acts or conditions to the immediate supervisor.Maintain up to date records for all state, federal, and insurance semi-annual and annual maintenance inspections on all vehicles.Conduct site inspections and interact with employees regarding issues of maintenance and repair of facilities.Work directly with TCEQ regarding site visits and recommendations to ensure compliance.Responsible for maintaining a preventive maintenance program. This includes all heating, air conditioning, as well as maintenance and repair of building and equipment.Maintain proficiency on technological changes to meet new laws and efficiency standards.Monitor and facilitate the planning and design of all major maintenance and construction activities.Perform supervisory functions including performance appraisals, staff meetings and other events to foster good communication and employee morale.Promptly and courteously handle employee concerns, complaints, and issues.Provide training to new and existing support services employees.Work with other Managers/Supervisors to facilitate a team-work approach, combining the expertise and manpower of both departments for the completion of a project.Review, approve, and prioritize work orders and approve paperwork regarding expenditures.Submit financial estimates for maintenance/replacement of equipment.Sandblast motors - BackupUse Epicor MES daily and accurately.Participate and Maintain 5S housekeeping standards Maintenance Supervisor requirementsElectrical Journeyman minimum, Master Electrician preferred Experience: K nowledge of electrical engineering practices and principles. Experience in testing processes related to submersible motors.Possess demonstrated ability to operate shop equipment including welder, drill press, lathe, mill, dynameter, hoists, weight scales, electrical analyzers, volt meters, band saws and hand tools.Possess the ability to communicate both orally and in writing.Basic computer literacy.
