Job Description: Social Work Intern - School-Based PlacementPosition Title: Social Work Intern Location: [Multiple Locations in Broward/Homestead]Department: Student Support ServicesReports To: School Social Worker / Internship SupervisorInternship Type: Unpaid / Academic Credit (as applicable)Schedule: [M-F, 10-30 Hours per week] | [Fall and Spring Semester] OverviewWe are seeking passionate and dedicated Social Work Interns to join our school-based team and support the emotional, social, and academic well-being of students. This internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic educational environment, allowing interns to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges while making a meaningful impact in students' lives.Key ResponsibilitiesObserve and participate in individual and group counseling sessions under supervision of LCSW or related fields.Support crisis intervention efforts and help manage behavioral concernsCollaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to promote student successHelp connect students and families with community resources and servicesParticipate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferencesMaintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality standardsContribute to school-wide initiatives that promote mental health and inclusivity Learning ObjectivesDevelop practical skills in assessment, intervention, and advocacyGain insight into school social work roles and responsibilitiesUnderstand the intersection of education, mental health, and social justiceStrengthen communication and collaboration skills in a professional setting QualificationsCurrently enrolled in a BSW or MSW program (or related field)Strong interest in child and adolescent development, education, and equityExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to maintain professionalism and confidentialityCommitment to cultural competence and trauma-informed careSupervision & SupportInterns will receive weekly supervision from a licensed social worker and have opportunities for professional development, reflection, and feedback throughout the placement.Clearinghouse Education and Awareness webpage:
