They are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting a diverse portfolio of small business clients across multiple industries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable working across accounting, payroll, AP/AR, and tax functions. Key Responsibilities General Accounting Analyze transactions across a diverse portfolio of small business clients in various industries Perform reconciliations for all necessary accounts Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable standards Identify and record journal entries as needed Document standard operating procedures in accordance with company standards Act in the best interest of clients at all times and safeguard client data Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Manage the full AP function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments Handle AR functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition Payroll Process and manage multi-state, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls for a diverse client base Reconcile payroll records to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies promptly Serve as primary point of contact for client and employee payroll inquiries Support onboarding of new client payroll systems and maintain accuracy and security of all employee records Tax Work with federal and state income tax forms (1040, 1065, 1120-S), including basic data entry into applicable software Apply working knowledge of sales tax exemption and requirements Meet all tax deadlines and collaborate with firm partners on timely submission of returns Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 1–3 years of relevant accounting and bookkeeping experience 2+ years of hands-on QuickBooks experience (advanced proficiency required) Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel Direct experience with AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger functions Thorough understanding of GAAP Strong verbal and written communication skills High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Strong time management skills with the ability to meet firm deadlines Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and applications Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship Must be able to commute to and work on-site at the Spring, TX or Raleigh, NC office
