Job Description

The City of Aurora is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Purchasing Coordinator in the Purchasing Division. The Purchasing Coordinator performs a variety of administrative and internal and external outreach functions to support the growth of the City's Procurement Development Program, which aims to increase participation of vendors in the City's procurement and contracting opportunities. The duties of this position include but are not limited to: Direct staff involved with formal and informal solicitations, as well as purchase orders and invoices; Work with City departments/divisions to ensure compliance with the City's purchasing policies and procedures; Coordinate outreach events to increase participation in the City's procurement process; Liaise with the business community to foster and promote increased involvement in City contracts; Perform bid and contract maintenance to monitor program performance; Work to implement and monitor contract management policies and tracking; Supports City's Procurement Card program; Other duties as assigned. This position requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or applicable field from an accredited college or university; or any equivalent combination of acceptable education, training, and experience. This position also requires a minimum of three (3) years' experience working with procurement processes, municipal experience is preferred. Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to physical, drug screen, and background check. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The position works on site in City Hall with work hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Starting hourly wage is $41.17/hr., depending on experience and qualifications.
