Job Type Part-timeDescriptionMartial Arts Instructor Job DescriptionNorfolk Yacht and Country ClubNorfolk Yacht and Country Club is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and professional Black Belt Instructor to lead our martial arts program. This part-time position requires effective supervision and instruction of youth participants, teaching martial arts skills and techniques, building positive relationships, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for students of all ages.Responsibilities:• Demonstrate and explain martial arts skills and techniques clearly and effectively.• Adapt instructions to meet the learning levels and needs of each class.• Prepare the teaching area with necessary equipment before each session and return equipment to proper storage afterward.• Provide individual and group guidance within the class structure to correct techniques, build confidence, and promote skill progression.• Maintain accurate class attendance records.• Follow the designated curriculum to ensure all basic components and progression standards are met.Qualifications:• Black Belt certification or equivalent (strongly preferred).• Experience teaching martial arts, especially with children and youth participants.• CPR and First Aid certification (not required but strongly encouraged)• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to maintain a positive, safe, and encouraging learning environment.• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred.Working Conditions:This is a part-time position that requires significant physical activity, including standing, walking, moving, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching, and handling equipment as needed.
