Senior Research Scientist- Chemistry Wayne State University is searching for an experiencedSenior Research Scientist- Chemistryat its Detroit campus location. Essential functions (job duties): Perform high quality computational chemistry research using a combination of machine learning, classical molecular dynamics, and ground/excited state quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics simulations. Contribute to writing of manuscripts and grant applications. Mentor and teach lab members as appropriate, including manuscript review, technical and research idea support. Design and implement code in C++, Python and bash for automation and new software packages that support and expand research efforts for new and previously published software packages, including existing package AutoParams. Apply expertise in high performance computing and cloud environments to create and implement automated workflows for research efforts. Further professional development and networking by attending conferences, workshops and other relevant opportunities. Qualifications: PhD, 3-5 years of experience in computational chemistry that includes C++/Python coding and expertise in software packages including TeraChem and Amber.
