General Purpose of the Position:The HSE Coordinator provides direct, operational-level support to ensure projects and worksites comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements. This role is hands-on, assisting with site safety activities, preparing project-specific documentation, and supporting daily reporting and safety observations. The position is designed as an entry-level role to develop technical HSE skills while supporting overall company safety objectives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Site Safety SupportAssist with field-level safety monitoring at project sitesEnsure workers follow required PPE and site-specific safety proceduresConduct basic safety walkthroughs and inspectionsProject PreparationAssist in preparing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)Support the completion of client-specific HSE documentationCompile and organize safety documentation for site mobilizationDaily Safety ReportingReview Daily Safety Observations (DSOs) and escalate issuesEnter safety data into company systemsAssist with tracking corrective actions and follow-upsTraining & CommunicationHelp coordinate site safety orientations and client-required trainingDistribute safety memos, delivery toolbox talks, and other communications prepared by HSE leadershipProvide administrative support for training recordkeepingIncident & Compliance SupportAssist with documenting near misses, incidents, and corrective actionsSupport site teams during audits, inspections, and client safety checksParticipate in safety equipment inspections and maintain logsOther DutiesProvide general administrative support for the HSE departmentSupport safety culture initiatives across sites and projectsSkills and Abilities Required:Strong attention to detail with ability to follow and reinforce proceduresBasic understanding of workplace safety regulations and practices (OSHA, hazard identification, working at heights, confined space, etc.)Good written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in industrial environments (refineries, power plants, etc.)Team-oriented, with willingness to learn and take directionCompetent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Contacts:Frequent contact with technicians and all levels of management within the companyFrequent contact with client personnel, including engineers and operations managersContact with international culturesDecision/Judgment:Decisions are guided by a general understanding of the company's mission, vision, values, standards of operation and mutually determined strategies and objectivesLimited independent decision-making; escalates issues appropriately.Effort/Working Conditions:Job is performed in a challenging environment in various client facilities which includes but are not limited to refineries, paper mills, chemical plants, and power plants in the United States and International locationsDifficult working conditions characterized by long hours with 12 + hour shiftsWork on project sites is often performed in full personal protective equipmentExtensive travel (4-6 Months), locally and internationally, to customer locations, job sites, international offices and affiliates, is required - most projects are 1-6 weeks in durationJob sites and customer locations could involve moderate degree of hazardous work conditions including exposure to extreme temperatures, work at heights, and exposure to hazardous chemicalsHigh level of physical activity in the field including walking, climbing, lifting and working in confined spaces and off of scaffoldingEducation and Experience Required:Degree or coursework in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.0-2 years of experience in safety or industrial environments (internships, co-op, or field experience acceptable)Safety certifications are preferred but not required.
