Position Summary The Distribution Center Coordinator is responsible for providing support and responding to emerging operational needs. They will coordinate and ensure the efficient and effective operations of all Distribution Center Employees, as well as the shipment and delivery of sales orders that meets or exceeds the customer's expectations, policies, goals, and objectives. The Distribution Center Coordinator's work schedule may include on-call responsibilities and some evenings/weekends as necessary to address emergency issues. Position Responsibilities - Essential * Coordinate shift activities with management team and planning department to ensure the Distribution Center objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner * Provide leadership and direction for employees through effective communications, mentoring, coaching, training, and development * Assist management efforts in root cause analysis, problem solving, and elimination of recurring issues as directed by supervision or management * Resolve employee issues through problem resolution techniques * Escalate issues to management in a timely manner * Schedule and coordinate applicable inbound/outbound shipments on a daily basis * Picking/Packing of materials for sales orders * Loading/Unloading using forklift and/or pallet jack * Validation of quality and accuracy of all sales orders * Inventory management - Transfers, cycle counting, adjustments, etc. * Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities * Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a "safety-sensitive" position Position Responsibilities - Non-Essential/Other * Assist management with planning, budgeting, and compliance standards, policies, and procedures * Assist management and corporate office with various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules, training of new employees and all safety protocols * Other duties and special projects as assigned * High school diploma or GED * Demonstrates a high level of customer service * Proven leader and team player with strong work ethic * Ability to safely work in a highly automated environment with responsibility for ensuring distribution center safety of all employees * Ability to communicate and work well with others Essential Skills and Experience * Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume and automated environment, with strong attention to detail and an emphasis on quality of work * Knowledge of Inventory Control Procedures * Ability to learn new skills and apply the new skills to daily work tasks * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills * Ability to adapt to change is essential * Ability to operate powered lift equipment (forklift, wave picker, hoists, etc.) * Highly motivated, disciplined problem-solver * Prior experience in an industrial warehouse environment with knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within related field * Proven leader and team player with a strong work ethic * Ability to handle vendor customer relations and negotiations. * Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture * Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s) Beneficial Skills and Experience Associate degree in a technical field preferred One year or more of prior experience working in a high-volume Distribution Center environment or similar shipping/receiving environment
