We are seeking a Lead Licensed Architect to steer the residential division of a premier Dallas-based firm. In this role, you will not simply manage projects; you will architect the future of the firm's residential practice, serving as the technical authority and strategic mind behind high-volume development programs. For the architect who desires the autonomy to grow a division and the resources of an established powerhouse, this role offers a clear path to executive-level influence and legacy-building impact in the Texas development market.Core ResponsibilitiesStrategic Practice Leadership: Own the operational success of the residential division, overseeing staffing, workflow optimization, and production scaling to meet high-volume client demands.Technical Authority & Licensure: Serve as the Architect of Record, providing professional stamping and ensuring all deliverables surpass Texas building codes and jurisdictional requirements.Design & Standards Stewardship: Lead the architectural design process from conceptual site planning through construction documentation, maintaining a rigorous standard for technical detailing and "repeatable" delivery systems.Integrated Multi-Disciplinary Coordination: Direct the synergy between internal architecture, structural, civil, and MEP disciplines to ensure a unified, conflict-free project delivery.Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary face of the firm for key developer clients, aligning project scopes with business objectives and navigating complex jurisdictional approvals.Team Mentorship & Growth: Cultivate a culture of accountability and professional development, coaching junior staff and establishing high-performance standards across the design team.Financial & Risk Oversight: Monitor division profitability, manage project budgets, and mitigate risk through thorough QA/QC processes and proactive schedule management.Required QualificationsEducation: Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited institution.Licensure: Active Registered Architect (RA) license in the State of Texas.Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in architecture, with a heavy emphasis on residential production (Single-Family, Townhomes, or Multi-Family).Software Proficiency: Expert command of Revit and AutoCAD; professional familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.Technical Mastery: Proven track record leading projects through the full lifecycle, including advanced knowledge of Texas building codes and the municipal permitting process.Preferred QualificationsSenior Leadership: 10-15+ years of experience, specifically in a "Practice Leader" or "Division Head" capacity.Sector Versatility: Demonstrated success in Multifamily developments and commercial/shopping center project work.Visualization Skills: Fluency in SketchUp and Enscape for high-end client presentations.Market Influence: Established relationships within the Texas residential development and homebuilding community.Licensure Expansion: NCARB certification or multi-state licensure.About STRAND Architecture + EngineeringSTRAND Architecture + Engineering is a Dallas-based, integrated firm founded in 1979.
