Diesel Mechanic - SeniorThe Senior Mechanic is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of heavy equipment, with a focus on Large Forklifts, and Trucks. In this position we must have strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of heavy equipment operation and repair in accordance with factory and industry standardsDIESEL MECHANIC QUALIFICATIONS:5+ years Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role in automotive repairDiesel Mechanic Certification preferredAbility to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectivelyCollaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problemsInspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy equipment including 20K Forklifts, dozers, excavators, and off-road trucksAbility to work flexible and/or extended hours and weekends (normal schedule: 45 hrs)Stable work historyReliable transportationCommitted to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operationPositive attitude; good team playerKnowledge of Diesel Engine and Hydraulic System diagnostics and preventive maintenanceKnowledge of DOT rules and regulationsExperienced in heavy diesel engine diagnostics and repairsQualificationsDIESEL MECHANIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintains inventory of replacement parts, tools, and equipment required for operations.Ensures preventative maintenance and repairs meet all quality and safety standardsTest mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects.Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs.Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records.Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies, such as transmissions and crawler heads, using hand tools, jacks, and cranes.Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices.Observe all safety precautions and wear appropriate PPE at all timesAny other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or managerDIESEL MECHANIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently exert 100 lbs. of force to push, and pull or otherwise move objectsWork involves long periods of standing, squatting, bending, twisting and reaching; may also include climbingMust be able to work in extreme weather conditions - heat, cold, rainGood manual dexterity, including the ability to make precise finger movements and the ability to keep arms and hands steady.PrideStaff Hiring Requirements:Must be 18+ Years OldMust be Willing to Submit to a Pre-Employment Background CheckMust be Willing to Submit to a Drug ScreenMust be able to Provide Proof of Eligibility to Work in The U.S.Enhance your career with a full-time job, with great company, competitive wages, and let PrideStaff support you in your future employment endeavors.
